What is the Jinda OEM/ODM process?

OEM means we build to your specification. ODM means we already have the design, the moulds and the documentation, and you change the colour, the print, the packaging or the specification. In both cases the process runs through the same four phases: brief, proposal, sample, production.

What changes between them is the tooling position. An ODM order starting from an existing model carries no tooling cost and can start from 50 pcs. A modified ODM order — colour or printed pattern on an existing mould — starts from 200 pcs. A fully custom design starts from 1,000 pcs, because a new mould has to be built and a sample approved. Sampling runs about 7 days; production after approval runs 15–20 days from production scheduling (stock models ship same day); repeat orders run 7–10 days.

Submit your brief

Send the product category, the target market, the target retail price and the first-order quantity. A photo, a drawing, a competitor link or a broken sample replaces a page of specification.

What you get back: a written question list if anything is missing — not a brochure.

Receive proposal

Material recommendation (stainless steel, carbon fibre or a substitute), the MOQ tier your design falls into, the tooling position, packaging options and lead time.

What you get back: MOQ and pricing position within one working day.

Approve sample

Physical sample — around 7 days for a stock model. This is where colour, print, wall thickness and packaging get fixed.

What you get back: a physical unit to test, photograph and show your buyer.

Production & delivery

Production runs 15–20 days from production scheduling (stock models ship same day). Repeat orders run 7–10 days. Testing, documentation and packaging are finished before the shipment leaves.

What you get back: tested goods, a documentation package and shipping documents.

FAQ

Process questions

What information do I need to submit for a proper quote?

Product category, target market, target retail price, first-order quantity, and any certification your importer requires. The target retail price matters most — it decides which material your margin can carry, and without it any quote is only a guess.

How long does the whole project take?

Sampling runs about 7 days for a stock model. Production after sample approval runs 15–20 days from production scheduling (stock models ship same day), and repeat orders run 7–10 days. Stock models ship the same day. The step that catches people out is packaging artwork, because retail and marketplace artwork is produced off-site — send the artwork requirement with the product brief so the two tracks run in parallel.

Can I get a sample before ordering in bulk?

Yes. A stock sample is free and you cover shipping, which is credited against your first bulk order. A custom sample — new colour, new print, new structure — takes longer and may carry a sample charge because the line has to be set up for your order.

Do you help with customs and international shipping?

We ship FOB or CIF from South China by sea or air, and coordinate with your freight forwarder or recommend one. Customs clearance and duties sit with you and your importer, but we prepare the commercial invoice, packing list, HS code guidance and the certification documents your importer will ask for.

How does the process change for institutional buyers?

Tender and institutional orders add two steps: a sample or pilot batch for approval, and a long-term spare parts commitment, because a nursing home or hospital cares about year-three maintenance as much as unit price. Those orders are usually quoted on a framework basis rather than per shipment.

What if I do not have a design yet?

Start with an ODM model and modify the colour, print or packaging. It proves the market with a small first order and no tooling cost. Once a product sells, a custom design is a decision backed by data rather than a guess — and the tooling cost is easier to justify.
